‘Begin your Startup, if you have a Problem that keeps you up at Night’, says Nabomita Mazumdar.

“Build something of your own, make it open, keep it completely real, online, free to use, let people come and talk about all their problems, get solutions.”

Founder of Nabomita.com, Nabomita Mazumdar says how she has been building products for more than 10 years.

“Become a founder; get into a start-up, if only you have a problem that keeps you up at night”

She explains how the inspiration for any work begins the moment you get involved in finding the solution to the problem.

“I did not stop till I found it. Once I found it, I could not sleep. 10 years it was a great journey for me. I would work through hours, it did not matter, I was solving the problem that I found.”

When one joins in the creative process, it is a place of inspiration and not excuses.

“Find the problem that keeps you alive.”

Her experience is a learning curve for many. She says that we are alive because we are part of a unique solution, a solution that the world definitely awaits. Time is not an issue. The idea is to begin, begin with baby steps. If one feels one’s job or studies are getting in the way, then one can begin with small steps. She says how she had to moonlight before she could finally take up the product she had created.

She is as passionate about her journey just as her experience and expresses her enthusiasm on being called one of the “Top 10 leaders for Future of Work Thought Leaders” by Blue Jeans!

Her breakthrough began while in her final year in the Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI).  She was attending a presentation on communities and realized its shortcomings. When she expressed this disappointment to her faculty Dr.Madhukar Shukla, he motivated her enough to build her own thing.

She says how she came across an online community and joined it as a member. She then took the opportunity to build offline chapters for the website. Very soon, she became a partner of the particular community. For her work, she was besotted with awards and accolades, including the prestigious “100 Women’s Achiever’s Award”.

Eventually, she went on to establish her own company, which primarily helps build communities and helps investors ramp up start-ups. Today, while also being the ambassador of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, she travels the world as a TEDx speaker talking about the future of work.
