When it comes to high street fashion, Pernia Qureshi, knows it all! Coming from her previous experience in premium brands such as Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Conde Nast in New York, Pernia has an eye for high street fashion suiting every pocket. This comes very naturally to her. Styling was just the beginning for this young talented diva! Post her stint in New York, she came back to India to find that there was no website which provides a selling platform to luxury wear designers!
I always used to shop online when I was working abroad! Once I came back, I clearly felt that India needed it’s own Net-a-Porter!
Pernia, a big online shopper herself started Pernia’s Pop Up Store 3 years back and she hasn’t looked back ever since. Not only is she the first entrepreneur who has given Indian designers a platform, but also given global audience a chance to shop Indian luxury wear directly from India!
Being a fashion entrepreneur might seem glamorous, but people don’t realise how much of hard work is there behind it.
When she came to India, around three years back, Pernia was a stylist. She was called by Rhea Kapoor to style Sonam Kapoor for Aisha. And with this new crew came in the new chic trend of High End Fashion labels, opened to the mass!
Coming from an affluent family, like any other entrepreneur she has faced criticism. But being the fighter she is, she clearly says that she let’s her work speak for herself.
If you’re a hardworking person, eventually, that will come through.
A very hardworking person, Pernia, says that her day begins very early with dance. A professionally trained kuchipudi dancer, under the famous Raja Radha Reddy, Pernia lives her passion daily!
You should have your career where your passion lies. It’s my passion, I don’t feel like I am working.
Compiling her expert style tips in one book, she launched “Be Stylish With Pernia Qureshi”. It’s a one stop shop for all that you need to know about high end fashion and styling!
Oozing with creative ideas, Pernia proudly tells Feministaa that the only way to be successful is when you don’t realise that you’re working. Like any other creative entrepreneur, Pernia stresses that passion should be the root of what you do. Success just follows.
Show persistence!
Women need to keep a lot of patience when it comes to work! Today, there are so many things that once can choose to do, that focusing on one thing becomes really difficult. But if an entrepreneur just keeps going, things start unfolding in favour.
A dancer, entrepreneur and a writer, Pernia is clearly an all rounder in the true sense, and for that reason we chose her as a Feministaa!
